Drama of a Gypsy youngster Hamlet is a story based on William Sheakspeare' s most famous drama. Even tough “Hamlet” was written 400 years ago, it' s dramaturgie is still relevant and modern.
Balkan, Serbia, Belgrade, the plot is taking place on a city garbage dump, and its characters are Gypsies who live in colony near Belgrade. Two confronted Gypsy gangs, Orthodox and Muslim, fight for the control of the distribution of garbage. They live in Serbia of nowadays. The winter is very cold and dry.
Sheakspeare' s castles are dilapidated “houses” made during one night. These “houses” are like people who live in them. These people are evil, intolerant and they cheat. Immediately after his brother' s death, Jova is now married to his late brother's wife Jelena and takes over a gang control of the trade on the depony. The ghost of Hamlet' s father wanders on the depony and seeks for revenge. Hamlet discovers that his uncle murdered his father and finds himself in a center of a drama which leads to the tragedy nobody will survive.
